Copaco Cloud fully compliant with Data Sovereignty Regulations thanks to Benelux Backbone

Copaco, an IT distributor and cloud provider in the Benelux region, has entered into a long-term partnership with optical network integrator Arcadiz for connections between data centers in Belgium and the Netherlands. This ensures optimized network latency and data sovereignty.

Unique Benelux Backbone Arcadiz Provides Fully Redundant Paths

To further optimize Copaco Cloud's service continuity, fully redundant connectivity is a crucial requirement. Arcadiz is the only provider in the Benelux region offering a fiber optic ring with two completely geographically separated fiber optic routes: one from Rotterdam through Antwerp to Brussels and another from Amsterdam, via Eindhoven and Maastricht to Brussels. The infrastructure of these routes was pivotal in choosing Arcadiz.

Low Latency

Pascal Saul, Senior Cloud Architect at Copaco Cloud, states, "In addition to complete redundancy, the new connectivity solution also minimizes latency. This is an important aspect that Managed Service Providers using Copaco Cloud can leverage to differentiate themselves to their end users."

Data Stays Within the EU

Saul continues, "The new solution offers another significant advantage. In the past, the connection passed through London. However, regulations regarding data sovereignty are continually tightening. There are, among others, GDPR and NIS (future NIS2) directives aimed at protecting data privacy. By using Arcadiz's Benelux backbone, our clients can be assured that data always remains within the EU."

24/7 Monitoring

The connections are monitored 24/7 from Copaco's NOC and Arcadiz's NOC. Immediate alerts are triggered if there is any change in the fiber optic, whether it's a disconnection or an attempt to breach through this connection. In terms of cybersecurity, this adds significant value for clients using Copaco Cloud.

Long-term Partnership

Edwin de Steenhuijsen Piters, Country Manager at Arcadiz Netherlands, says, "It is important for us to listen to our clients and understand the kind of solutions they want, but more importantly, how they want them for their end clients. Both Arcadiz and Copaco have horizontal organizational structures with short lines of communication and extensive knowledge to provide their clients with the best solutions. Additionally, Copaco, like Arcadiz, places great importance on the quality of services, allowing us to complement each other effectively."
