The CROCUS HDSL and CROCUS SDSL modems can be equipped with a wide range of modular exchangeable interfaces, ensuring high-speed interconnection solutions for an extremely wide set of applications. The Nx64k family of interfaces offers to the connected application any speed between 64kbps and the actual line-speed, in multiples of 64 kbps. The interface modules are available conform to recommendations V.36, V.35, RS-530 and X.21, or can be combined with an Ethernet bridge or IP-Routing functionality. At either side of the communication link different types of interfaces may be used.

The CROCUS family of high-speed modems can be equipped with a large set of modular exchangeable interfaces, making it the high-speed interconnection solution for an extremely wide range of applications. A bridge interface module combines the LAN and WAN subsystem in one single device. It automatically learns the MAC addresses on the LAN it is connected to and forwards through the Crocus base band connection only those frames destined for the other LAN. The Bridge's LAN table can store up to 10000 addresses and features an automatic updating and ageing mechanism.

The Crocus Router Interface integrates high-speed access technology and IP routing in one single piece of equipment. The router fits into the current generation of Crocus base band or fiber-optic modems as does any other Crocus modular interface. It permits an Ethernet segment to be connected directly to the modem.

The high performance Crocus 10M Router Interface is a module that fits into the Crocus SHDSL, E3 MUX and and fiber optic modems, as well as into the Crocus Inverse Multiplexer. The Crocus 34M interface fits into the Crocus FO45M modem.
Both models supporting most of the today’s used protocols with amongst others ATM AAL5 encapsulation, ATM, Frame Relay, PPP, IP Routing, NAT, BOOTP, DHCP, LPT2, DiffServ priority, etc...
