Eliminating the need for intermediate regeneration
Cable operators are facing the challenge to increase there inter-regional capacity to either multiple of 1G or take the step to 10G networks. However, the current state of the 10G optics in the switches available on the market limits severely the distance span between two hubs to typically 40km.
Traditional solutions were designed for the high channel count capacity of the metro core, and are too expensive to build and operate single jumps at the edge. Arcadiz Telecom offers dedicated low cost – low channel count EDFAs and DCM to increase this span to 130km without intermediate regeneration and without adding transponders.
Adding transponders brings this reach beyond 200km in the Metro.

- Competitive solution from 1st channel onwards
- Maximise the investment in Terminal Equipment such as Routers and Switches.
